What an amazing and growing little boy you are! The past 2 months have been nothing but on the go and watching you start to catch onto to things we say and do. It's hard to believe that we have just celebrated your first Halloween and Thanksgiving and are getting ready to celebrate your first Christmas!
Over the past 2 months, here are the activities and changes on your life:
*October brought your first Halloween where you dressed up as Tigger. G-mom and Aunt Staci picked out your costume as mom and dad felt Tigger was a great fit for your bubbly and contagious personality. We went to a block party at the Underwoods home for our life group where you got to play with your friend, Ansley, who was dressed up as a bumble bee.
*November brought a trip to Louisiana for the birth of your cousin, Avery Ann Choate. While you weren't really sure what to think of her, you got a kick out of wanting to pat her on the head. I think you were trying to play and didn't understand why she wouldn't play back. You enjoyed your time spent with G-mom and G-papa and can't wait to go back to visit for Christmas!
*We also got to enjoy your first Thanksgiving at MiMi and Pops house in Georgia. We spent time with Gigi who came down from PA and also loved your time with Aunt Lizzie, Uncle Joseph, and Cuz JR. You and JR are going to be a blast in the near future as you are both becoming more mobile and attempting to chat with each other.
*Month 9 brought on your ability to pull up on furniture and our legs. Into month 10, you began cruizing down the couches and over to the table and it is only a matter of time before you take those daring 1st steps.
*You have now discovered puffs, cheetos, and other snacks as being an everyday necessity. You are eating 3rd foods like they are going out of style! We have slowly been introducing you to more table food like potato, mashed peas, and chicken. You always seem to make a face the first time but then you open your mouth wide for more...LOVE IT!
*The FIRST bruise... you crawled over to the lamp, grabbed the cord, yanked it right off the table and onto your face. It broke my heart because I saw the whole thing happening and just didn't get to you quick enough. I think I shed more tears than you did that night but needless to say, you had quite the bump and bruise across your nose. I just know there are many more to come... :-(
*The past 2 months have also brought on many new faces and noises: after hurting your nose, you started scrunching up your face and snorting (I LOVE THIS!!!); you have also begun this high pitch sqeeling while in your car seat or in public and it makes mommy and daddy cringe; you have also begun grunting...no particular time or place just when you decide to be a character!
*Your vocabulary is ever expanding...as "mama" and "dada" are a constant. Your newest word is "bye-bye" with the cutest little wave even though you don't quite know what it means yet. You love to tell everyong bye-bye as we are walking through the mall or grocery store or just sitting at the table at a resturant.
*Your 9 month check-up brought on some GREAT news... your kidney reflux has healed, you now weigh 17lbs 6oz (5th %), and you grew over 3 inches to be 29.25in (75%). We love that you are growing but can't believe it is happening so fast!
The past 2 months have been nothing but amazing spending it with you. You are the love of our lives and we look forward to every day bringing something new. Next month, we will be celebrating your first Christmas and spending time with both sets of grandparents!
We love you with all of our hearts and we couldn't be more proud to call you our son!

8 months already...and on the move!!!
What a busy, yet fun month we have just experienced. It makes me even more excited for the times ahead!
What's been happening...
* The present of crawling was on your 7 month birthday and it didn't take long for you to be crawling like a champ. You go anywhere and everywhere you can...in the bathroom, up and over Marley, down the hall, through the kitchen... and you absolutely LOVE it when dada chases you on his hands and knees also!
* You have stayed on your 4 hour eating cycle but we have added variety to your choices. There hasn't been a food yet that you have refused and believe me, there are some pretty interesting mixes out there.
You eat oatmeal about mid-morning, then some fruit in early afternoon, and then throw in some vegetable in early evening...you don't have any complaints as those cheeks and thighs have really started filling out.
* Your 1st Halloween costume arrived that was sent from G-mom and Auntie Staci. You are planning to be Tigger which matches your very upbeat personality. I can't wait to dress you up and take pictures of your precious self!
* You visited your 1st Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch down in Blodgett, MO. Though you are too young to really enjoy the rides and fun things to do, you LOVED the pumpkins. You just wanted to reach over and grab all of them. You didn't seem to care that mama gtot you stuck in a maze and we couldn't figure out how to find the exit...it's a good thing that we could fit under the outer wall!!! I am already looking forward to next year so that you will actually be able to do some of the other activities.
* You are great at keeping yourself occupied when you don't want to sleep in your crib. You love to just lay there and talk to the stuffed animals. We tend to find all of them in different areas of the crib than where they started. Then you tend to have the biggest smile on your face when we open the door to get you. It's like you are so excited to see mama and dada...brings joy to our hearts!
You are truly an amazing addition to our lives. We love spending every minute we can with you. You constantly make us laugh and grow more in love with you every single day! There are many acitivites planned for the next month like your first trip to Auburn and then we will welcome the arrival of your cousin, Avery Ann.
Please remember that you are the love of our lives and we love you more than you will ever know!!!

Another Milestone...Happy 7 Month Birthday!
You have begun to grow, develop, and act more and more like a little boy than a baby. You never fail to make me smile no matter how busy or bad of a day I have had. I wish I could spend more time with you during the day but I know dada is loving the time he gets with you. This month has brought many great memories:
* Crawling!!! You crawled for the first time on your 7 month birthday. G-mom was in town visiting and you were playing on the floor with her when all of sudden, you just decided to take off. It was a wobbly 3 steps but I don't think I could have smiled any bigger or have been more proud at that given moment!
* You have gotten to spend more time with your friend, Ansley. You guys love to hug and kiss as much as you can understand it. She isn't with you anymore in church daycare but you love spending lunch or weekly dinner times with her.
* Our friends, Ryan and Whitney, are joining the parent group. They will have another little friend for you in March 2011. We are so excited for them and can't wait to share in this amazing time with them.
* You have begun eating oatmeal instead of rice cereal for breakfast. You also love your fruits and vegetables. Green beans haven't been your favorite but you seem to enjoy sweet potatos, carrots, squash, and pretty much anything dada feeds you.
* Your talking has become more vocal and seems like you are attempting to imitate certain words like dada. Seems like you also enjoy saying hi or hey even though it is probably still baby talk.
* We spent some time with your buddy, Jayden. He is 2 months younger but already about your size. I can't wait for the 2 of you to be able to play and interact together in the near future.
* We took 2 road trips this month: down to Louisiana to visit G-mom, G-papa, and Auntie Staci then we spent Labor Day in Georgia with MiMi, Pops, Auntie Liz, Uncle Joseph, and cousin JR. You enjoyed your Baby Einstein jumper and got to spend time with mamaw, papaw, and mawmaw. In Georgia, you enjoyed playing with the puppies and laying on the floor with JR. We took pics of you and JR together and can't believe how much you look alike at times.
* You love to laugh and smile. There are no better times than when you, me, and dada just sit in the living room at night and play on the floor. You just giggle and giggle at us and especially love it when we tickle your back.
* You have taken notice of your BIG Kermit the Frog in your room. You love to sit next to him on the floor and then give him lots of hugs and kisses. There will be a day soon when you outgrow the Kermit but until then, we will continue to laugh at you attempting to play with him.
* You have grown more and more fond of Marley. Once you really get moving, I don't think there is much hope for Marley to have any peace and quiet without you crawling all over her. You just love it when dada carries you around as you ride on Marley's back. Your laugh brings smiles to all of our faces.
You bring so much happiness and joy to our lives. You continue to surprise us every day and we look forward to every second we get to spend with you. I am sure the next month is going to bring many more great memories and I look forward to all the fun moments ahead.

SITTING!!!
Alex gave us an amazing 6 month birthday present...sitting WITHOUT help!!!
I was sitting on the floor, letting Alex play with Marley. I was kind of supporting him but he had a grip on Marley which was holding him up. Marley got up and walked away and then Alex went to swaying in a circle but never tilted over. He finally caught his balance and sat there for about 15 seconds before toppling over. I got so excited that I went and grabbed the camera and cell phone so I could get pictures and video. I placed a toy on the floor in front of him and he put his hands down in front and played with the toy...I was such a proud mommy!
Once I learn how to post pictures and video, I will put them up for you to view!
YAY for Alex!!!

1/2 way through the 1st year!
Our little man is growing so fast and it is such a blast watching him learn and trying to study every situation. His little personality shows through more and more everyday. He is a very happy and fun loving baby and puts a smile on my face everytime he grins and shows his little dimples.
Here are some of the good times we have had this past month:
* We went on your first beach trip to Destin though we didn't take you down to the sand. You had a blast at the swimming pool, splashing in the water, floating in your float, and napping at pool side. You were a great little traveler and we can't wait to take you back once you will be able to have fun in the sand.
* We have learned that you have no troubles eating apples, bananas, or peaches. We plan to add pears to the mix in the near future and will ask about vegetables at your next doctor's appointment. You get so excited when you see it's time to eat...you just can't hold inside your bundle of excitement.
* Still no teeth have broken through but the chewing of the nuknuk and bottle nipple are excessive. Sometimes you would just prefer to chew instead of drinking your juice. You enjoy the cold chew toys that we put in the fridge and one day I think you are going to knaw off your fingers.
* You have become an amazing sleeper at night. You are pretty consistent on a 9:30pm-7:30am sleep schedule. If you only knew how amazing this is for mommy and daddy! It makes you such a happy little boy when I come get you in the morning and you have the biggest smile on your face!
* I finally got to see you roll over and I don't think you have stopped. It's like you enjoy showing off! You have figured out how to roll over in your swing while swinging so we now have to safety strap you in.
* Skypeing this month has become more frequent with G-mom and G-papa and we now have been able to skype with Mimi also. We are excited that they are getting to share in your growing since they can't see you in person everyday.
* Sheri at Bella Bambino took your 6 month pictures a couple of days ago. She really captures emotion in her pics so I can't wait to see your precious personality shine through. You were a cheese and ham ball the entire time and absolutely gave her such a fun little attitude to capture.
* Nursing is slowing down for you. There are many times that you aren't wanting anything to do with me but you can't get enough at other times. The milk is slowing down and I am not looking forward to being done but I know you have gotten the best milk I could give you the first 6 months of your life!
* Sitting without help only last about 2 seconds at a time right now but I have no doubt you will be sitting without help in no time. It has only been in the past 2 weeks that you would even put your booty down long enough to attempt to sit.
* You are already showing signs of attempting to crawl. You are able to push up and hold yourself on your hands and then bring your knees in and poke your booty up in the air. You will be on the move in no time and we will be chasing you around the house.
There is no telling what the next month will bring. I am loving you reaching milestones but you are changing way too fast. There always seems to be something new every single day. You continue to be a blessing to our life and I can't thank God enough for our little kermit!

Destin...oh my goodness!!!
We have just returned from an amazing long weekend in Destin, FL with Jason, Sarah, Ansley, Ryan, and Whitney Bandermann. We had a blast though the travel took a little longer than planned. We stayed on the 16th floor of Aerial Dunes II where we had the most stunning view on all sides!
Wednesday: The drive began at 3:00am with arrival happening around 3:30pm. We got the cars unloaded, bags unpacked, and headed off to Buster's for enough crab legs to last us til next summer. The boys then made a trip to the grocery store to load up for the weekend.
Thursday: Matt, Ryan, Whitney, Sarah, Jason, and Ansley went to the beach for a little while before lunch. I got to spend some time at the condo while Alex napped. We all grabbed some lunch and spent the afternoon at the swimming pool. Alex loved his float and greatly enjoyed kicking his feet in the water. We then enjoyed an amazing dinner at Joe's Crab Shack!!!
Friday: Matt, Jason, Ryan, and Whitney headed off for a round of golf while Sarah and I enjoyed some pool time with the babies. They didn't last long as nap time was fast approaching so after a quick swim, we headed back up to the condo for naptime. Everybody returned from golf with some great stories about Ryan being Whitney's caddy... The afternoon brought another trip down to the pool where Alex took his nap stretched out in the breeze. We then ate dinner at Hog's Breathe Saloon. Matt and I had never eaten here but it definitely a place we will return to. Alex gave us many laughs at dinner as he was loving and kissing all over us. He and Ansley exchanged some kisses and Ansley tried to share Dawson the dog with Alex.
Saturday: We were already dreading the fact that this was our last day... We headed to the pool but it was too cold for Alex to enjoy from the rainstorm the night before. Matt was sweet enough to take Alex up to the condo so that I could go enjoy some rays on the beach. Ryan, Sarah, Whitney, and myself enjoyed the beach while Matt and Jason hung with the babies. After lunch, we packed up and made our way to the outlets. We got Matt some nice polos for extremely cheep and found Alex a bib that says "future pilot" on it with a little airplane (so cute!). We all grabbed 1 last amazing dinner at The Crab Trap and then made our way down to the beach for some pictures. Needless to say, the wind made for some great hairdo's!!!
Sunday: Rise and Shine as we hit the road at 7:30am and sadly left Destin with plans of our next beach trip in mind.
Thanks you guys for an amazing weekend! Matt and I continue to add amazing memories from our annual trips to Destin!

Where have 5 months gone?
As hard as it is for me to believe... Alex turned 5 months old today! I am stealing the idea from my friend, Sarah, to post the milestones each month that Alex achieves. I hope you all share in the excitement and yet sadness that our little man is growing up so fast.
WOW... 5 months old
* You are absolutely loving to eat from a spoon. We have started you on rice cereal and apples and you have no problem attempting to feed yourself with the spoon.
* I think you are starting to teethe. The drool has begun, you were running a little fever today and wanted nothing more than to chew on the bottle nipple that had cold juice in it.
* Daddy has seen you roll from your belly to your back. I can't wait to see it for myself!
* Sleeping through the night has become more and more frequent. We are not having to do any more night feedings but you still wake at times just wanting your nuknuk.
* You are enjoying talking to G-mom and G-papa on skype. Though we don't get to see them, you love to watch the computer when you hear their voices coming from it.
* You have started belly laughing at random things like momma sneezing and daddy tickling your belly. I get teary eyed every time I watch you and daddy play on your changing table. You absolutely love him with all your heart.
* We have decided for daddy to run Spectrum Gymnastics so he can be at home with you during the day while mommy's at work. You don't realize yet how much relief this gives me and how happy it makes me that you get to spend time together.
* We missed Ansley's birthday party but got to wish her a Happy 1st Birthday on the 4th of July. The 2 of you have some great playing times ahead.
* GiGi, MiMi, Aunt Liz, and cousin JR came to visit. You and JR are absolutely precious together. We have decided that JR is going to cause the trouble while you sit back and observe him getting into trouble. This was GiGi's first time getting to meet you and I know she holds a special place in her heart for you.
* You went swimming for the first time when we spent the weekend in Tunica, MS with G-mom and G-papa. We spent the days at the motorhome and fed you rice cereal for the first time. Your face was priceless but it didn't take long for you to catch on.
* We found out that your Aunt Staci and Uncle K will be having a little girl named Avery Ann in early November. We can't wait for her arrival and what fun Christmas is going to be in the next few years.
We are looking forward to what the next month brings. We will be headed to Destin, FL with Sarah, Jason, and Ansley Bandermann, and Whitney and Ryan Bandermann. Can't wait for your first trip to the beach... will post about that another day.
