Alex gave us an amazing 6 month birthday present...sitting WITHOUT help!!!
I was sitting on the floor, letting Alex play with Marley. I was kind of supporting him but he had a grip on Marley which was holding him up. Marley got up and walked away and then Alex went to swaying in a circle but never tilted over. He finally caught his balance and sat there for about 15 seconds before toppling over. I got so excited that I went and grabbed the camera and cell phone so I could get pictures and video. I placed a toy on the floor in front of him and he put his hands down in front and played with the toy...I was such a proud mommy!
Once I learn how to post pictures and video, I will put them up for you to view!

- I am nothing special but I have so many special people in my life. One of them is my best friend, my soulmate, and usually my better half, Matt. We met during Camp War Eagle (freshmen orientation) at Auburn University and over 10 years later, we are blessed to have an amazing little boy named Stephen Alexander (“Alex”). I am the head coach at Southeast Missouri State University for the women's gymnastics program. I am one of few people that LOVE their job and feel blessed getting to go to work in the mornings. Matt has been a stay-at-home father for the past year after the passing of his boss caused the company to close. Through many trials, we stayed committed to our belief in Jesus Christ and in His plan for us. We know he made it possible for Matt to stay at home with Alex this first year. He is now back on the job hunt again and we strive to live a life worthy and representing of God's amazing love and grace. Without Christ, nothing we do or have accomplished would be possible. He is our strength and guiding light in ALL that we do! To put it simply, we are just ordinary people living an ordinary life with the love and support of our EXTRAordinary family and friends!
